Delving into the essence of home, I embarked on a personal journey, spotlighting my grandma's house as the epitome of love, comfort, and belonging. To encapsulate the endless memories, I created a book that serves as both a tribute and a tangible embodiment of the warmth I associate with home.
This booklet unfolds as an intimate exploration, featuring heartfelt interviews with my three grandmas who played pivotal roles in shaping my upbringing. Weaving cultural threads into the narrative, I included a cherished Korean recipe for Kimbap. The last section is a journal entry of how I remember a Korean holiday at my grandma’s house that speaks to culture and family.
Guided by the colors of the Korean flag, I chose a palette dominated by blue, evoking a sense of calmness and comfort that resonates deeply with the ambiance of my grandma's house. Each element, from the interviews to the culinary heritage, is carefully crafted to echo the sentiments of love, comfort, and belonging that define the very essence of home, which I find at my grandma’s house.
